You've seen the memes, but the Fried Chicken pepper is the real deal. These pods look exactly like crispy fried chicken batter, with deeply blistered, gnarly skin that stops every conversation. Originally a cross between a 7 Pot Bubblegum (BBG7 Orange) and Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion, this one has become one of the most recognizable superhots in the game.

The flavor is where it really earns its reputation. Bright citrus and grapefruit up front, transitioning into deep floral notes with a sweet, earthy finish from the Bubblegum parentage. The heat builds over several minutes rather than hitting all at once - it coats the whole mouth before concentrating into a sharp sting. One of the most flavor-complex superhots you'll grow.

  • Heat Level: 850,000-1,500,000 SHU / Extreme
  • Flavor Profile: Citrus, grapefruit, floral, earthy sweetness
  • Days to Maturity: 110-140 days from transplant
  • Difficulty: Medium to Hard
  • Seeds per Pack: 10+
  • Species: Capsicum chinense

Pods are medium to large (5-7 cm), ripening from green to vibrant orange with that unmistakable crispy-battered texture. Plants are sturdy producers that reach 3-4 feet tall and branch heavily once they get going.

Every seed is grown in isolation tents at our Nebraska farm, keeping the chance of cross-pollination to around 4%.

Growing tip: Start indoors 10-12 weeks before your last frost - these are slow germinators that need heat (80-85°F soil temp). Give them a long, warm season with full sun. The pods develop their best flavor and that signature blistered texture in the final weeks of ripening, so don't pick early.

Add to cart and grow something legendary this season.
